Winding down a long weekend...

I am just about to check out of the hotel room and spend the rest of the day at Kevin's. We saw SUPERMAN RETURNS Sunday. I didn't remember as lot about the earlier films though I have seen them, so I missed some in jokes. I lived in Japan when the first movie came out for example, just like STAR WARS, and Mom and Dad didn't take us to those when they came available In Japan on base (if they ever did). Still, I did enjoy it though I think the recent SPIDER-MAN movies are the best I have seen (though the trailer I saw for SM 3 seems to have too many major plot threads...).
Monday morning I took advantage of sleeping in, the omelet to order breakfast of the Embassy Suites here in Brea (I am a hotel points member so can stay here at discount every so often), and kick back and bask in the AC I don't get at home. Also went to the mall since it's right behind me to see if I could find any good deals on anything I might want or need. Made a Hot Topic run to see what latest Zim merchandise was out (still addicted to the merch years after working on the show!) And discovered they carried individual issues of some Slave Labor titles but not Gargoyles, so when buying a cute journal with GIR from ZIM on it, made them a pitch for all four of the Disney titles. They didn't know about any of them and seem genuinely intrigued. I come down here to see Kevin every Sunday so I will check again. Right now I am more concerened about others knowing and finding my own copy. Because not only do all fans lose, so does my friend Greg W. Who has put a lot of himself into this. If I find a copy along the way, great.
Monday evening, I got on a bus with others from the church and headed BACK to LA for the Hollywood Bowl fireworks. Kenny Loggins rocked the Bowl but I have to confess I didn't know most of the tunes he did. Great fireworks. Only major difference was they used a city bus instead of a tour bus this year, which disappointed most except me as I am used to the LA city buses (we got on one in South LA county).
This morning, again I slept in, had a good complimentary breakfast, and lounged in bed with the AC running.
Almost noon, got to go. Hope everyone else has a great day as we remember our country!
