About to live in a construction zone...
Apr. 25th, 2006 08:41 pmFor those who don't know, I've lived the last nearly 10 years in a circa 1928 studio apartment which apparently still largely has its original plumbing.
It won't after next month.
They're going to be coming in here and ripping up EVERY apartment to replace all the plumbing. We had hints of this last month but I didn't think it would come this fast.
Even if I wanted to and otherwise could find a place on such short notice, I don't have the money to do so. So it's going to be a very interesting month of May.
Anyone here every been through this with their own house? How bad an experience was it or wasn't it? (particularly if you didn't do your own work)
Oi. Somehow I'm dreading this. Totally uncharted territory for me. Only place I've ever lived totally on my own.
