Not to say I wasn't busy though.

Spent my morning in Fullerton, actually, going to the bimonthly Womens Literature Group we do there. The book this time around was UNDER THE BANNER OF HEAVEN, a nonfiction book actually about Mormon fundamentalism. Which made for interesting but heavy discussion.

It also happened that the church's rummage sale to raise money for the children's facilities was the same day. Should have been last weekend but they were rained out. So getting to our usual meeting place was a little crazy but workable.

Afterwards, I went down to see if there was anything I could use. I did leave with a sweater and a couple of shirts that will let me build layered looks. Which I like, being in my current financial situation, because you can kind of mix them up and create the illusion you have more clothes than you really do...

Then I went across the street to what is locally known as Ruta's (full name Rutabegoraz) for lunch, known for a largely organic and meatless menu, they've got a lot of stuff with soy or straight vegetarian, though some dishes can be chicken or shrimp added... no red meats here! A little pricey but so is most everything within walking distance of the church, to get cheaper put me too far away from the train station which is only a couple blocks walk from the church as well. Today I tried a pepperoni and olive pita pizza (also has cheese and sauce, but Pita doesn't eat apart as well and is more floppy than crust so that doesn't work too well) along with some chips and a new kind of dip they were trying out as a 1 dollar special... feta cheese and pumpkin seed. I absolutely love feta cheese, so thought I'd give this a try. Interesting, not something I'd order often, but definitely worth the experiment.

After that it was over to the train station and wait 30 minutes for the Amtrak back to LA.

I still had my WizardWorld pass in my wallet and WizardWorld was kind of on the way home (got on the subway at Union Station and got off at 7th instead of going straight home, then switched to the line that goes past the Convention Center to Long Beach). Figured I paid 10 bucks for this pass, might at well at least step in the door for two days of it even if I don't stay long! Got there just as the 3PM round of programming kicked in, and sat in on a DC Comics panel where they showed off a lot of covers and dropped a lot of hints but basically said squat. Quickly canvassed the floor one more time and a little after an hour worth, headed back home.

So now I've just been kicking back and trying to relax as best I can. Been way too busy lately.
