Crazy days...

Work is very crazy right now, but I'm not in a position to talk much about it. Suffice it to say I've been putting in 8.5 to 9.5 hour days all week with crazy deadlines. Fortunately this was one of the earlier later days, so I just barely made it to the optometrist before they closed. The new glasses are very nice, the view is a little clearer despite the mild difference and the frames so light yet sturdy (a Japanese brand, Konishi) that I have to remind myself I am wearing glasses!
Other than that I've been very lazy today to try and offset craziness.
Did a last minute plug for Gathering of the Gargoyles on the JEM Mailing List. It helps that both Greg Weisman and Michael Reaves, who also wrote for GARGOYLES, wrote for JEM, so I'm not off topic too much. Then again, being Assistant Moderator, the only person who can bust me is my sister ;) I wish them a lot of luck and good attendance up there. The whole event means a lot to a certain friend of mine, so I want to see it succeed in a big way. Especially since there is the new bi-monthly comic book of GARGOYLES that just started coming out as of yesterday from Slave Labor Graphics and their Amaze Ink line. But the convention doesn't offer anything for me at my level. I felt enough out of my element in Vegas last year when I went, and being surrounded in a situation where I know more pros than attendees this year, I can only imagine that intensifiying.
Speaking of animation pro stuff... the latest issue of the Women in Animation newsletter showed up today. I got the cover story in this last issue on the annual meeting when someone else couldn't make it. The whole issue turned out really, really well in the end I think. I'm very pleased.
That reminds me, I so still need to try and do more with Chapter 8 of the animation production book tonight.
